History
Since 2009, a think-tank committee has been working to structure and federate gospel music players in Montreal, in order to create a forum for the promotion and expansion of this genre that has inspired so many other musical styles.
In February 2021, in collaboration with numerous players in the Montreal gospel community, a motion to make Montreal a Gospel City was accepted.
Now, those involved in Gospel music have decided to take another step in the right direction by launching the Montreal International Gospel Festival.
Our
Mission
The Festival International du Gospel à Montréal “d’hier à aujourd’hui” is a unifying event for Quebecers of all origins, featuring performances by local, national and international artists.
It is a rallying cry for the identity of Afro-Quebecers, inviting them to live together in unity and sharing. The festival’s organizers are committed to making Montreal shine with gospel music, in a philosophy of resilience, benevolence, commitment and collaboration.
